Why did Black soldiers face a greater risk in the Civil War than White soldiers?

Answer~If captured by Confederate forces, Black Union soldiers were treated not as soldiers, but escaped slaves. If wounded, the would most likely be killed. If unharmed, they would be sold into slavery.
